Oh, The Joys Of Christmas Shopping: A Poem.

Brrrrrrrrrmmmm, the engine starts,
Listening to the Christmas charts.
On our way to buy some food,
To keep us in the Christmas mood.

Once we’re at the shops,
Running to avoid raindrops.
Trying to reach the trolleys,
Getting hit with granny’s brollies.

Finally at last we get in,
Having to listen to the din.
Families with teary kids,
Making last minute bids.

Looking for few last presents,
Smelling festive supplements.
Granny’s on their walking stick,
Trying to make shopping quick.

At last we got the Christmas pudding,
Look at what my foots in.
Peas, carrots and brandy needed,
We need some chocolate someone pleaded.

Two more things left to get,
Wait, we’ve got no turkey yet.
Making a mad dash,
Dad has to get some cash.

Aisle are getting more packed,
No more tins being stacked.
Everyone needing food,
No longer in the Christmas mood.

Older ones start to shout,
Little ones begin to pout.
Getting the final tiny topping,
Oh, the joys of Christmas shopping!!!

Merry Christmas!!
