TheatreTrain 17/12/2011

My parents pay for me to go to an awesome little performing arts group called TheatreTrain. We do an hour of singing, an hour dancing and an hour of drama.

Today we sung Make You Feel My Love but with two harmonies.I was in the group that was singing the lower part but then got move to the group singing the higher part and probably sounded like a strangled cat. We then sung a song called the Rhythm Of Life, which we learnt the first few lines for and gave up because we didn't get it.

On to the dancing lesson, well...... if you call trying to look graceful whilst actually looking like a headless chicken trying to fly, dancing then yes, dancing. After a quick 20 minute warm up we moved on to 5 minute corner work then on to learning/relearning the dance to Jingle Bell Rock which nearly ended dangerously. One of the moves we had to perfect was taken the wrong way by one of the boys and promptly got two girls trying to swap places with one refusing.

We played a game in Drama called Freeze, it consists of two people improvising a little scene for about 30 seconds and then someone shouts 'FREEZE' and then swaps with one of the performers and creates a new improvisation about a completely different topic. And as per usual when all the groups perform together, it ended in a shouting match.

Before we went home we performed the songs from the show. We performed; It's A Hard Knock Life, Don't Rain On My Parade and Take Me To Heaven during which a performer, who can not be named(ME), lost her balance whilst doing the choir moves and had to be held up by the smaller younger girl behind her.

This is Not the normal way of TheatreTrain. I repeat, this is NOT the normal way we act towards each other but it was our last session before Christmas and we all slightly excited that Christmas is only 7 days away and we had all had a LOT of sweets during the break so were a bit hyper!!
Have A Great Holidays.
